Become a member of the Hellenic Institute
for Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy!
Membership of the Hellenic Institute for RECBT is important for the amplification of the Institute’s sustainability and for the provision of qualified services to its members, and hence to all the receivers of its mental health services.
Membership is a first effort for the certification of the quality of services’ provision for the Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, and an initiative of collaboration, with many professionals, including mental health professionals, with the aim for the promotion of responsible and qualitative human services.
Membership provides you with a series of privileges, such as, professional identity as a regular or as a irregular member of the Hellenic Institute for RECBT, certification of membership with one year duration, and 30% off discount for all members of the Institute on all the events that are organized under the auspices of the Hellenic Institute (some restrictions apply, please consult each event’s description).
It is noted that for the scientific collaboration within the Institute’s context, the membership status is a prerequisite for all interested individuals/parties. It is also noted that for collaborations outside the Institute, membership is optional.
Membership of the Hellenic Institute for RECBT, are regular, irregular and honorary.
a) Regular members: Regular members of the Institute can be those who hold a degree from a Greek School or Faculty of Psychology, and other schools/faculties of education, biopsychosocial and educational health, from Greek universities/colleges, or those who hold a degree from foreign Schools or Faculties of Psychology (and graduates of other school/faculties of mental health education and educational health from foreign University Schools or Faculties of Psychology) and who are also graduates of the Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training and supervision program, or from the Children and Adolescents’ Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training and supervision program, of the Hellenic Institute for RECBT. Regular members can be also graduates of programs of other psychotherapeutic approaches, provided they have received a one-year training and supervision for the method of Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy. Within the regular membership, are the supervisor, the mental health services coordinator, the administrative coordinator, and all Institutes’ staff. The rest of the members, beside the final certificate they have gained for the implementation of psychotherapy, they are also required to submit their certificates of their studies, and a full CV with their educational and professional activities they have completed till that moment.
b) Associate members: Those who can enroll are Psychology students, recognized by applicable laws, from a higher level of University School or Faculty in Greece or abroad (and students of other schools/faculties of education, biopsychophysical and educational health in Greece or abroad) or other health education professionals who attend the training and supervision program, as trainee-therapists of Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or the training and supervision program for Children and Adolescents’ Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral therapy.
Members of the Institute can become psychology students (and other schools/faculties students who are certified trainees in Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as it was said above. Within the associate members, those who are necessarily included, are external associates and trainee-partners who participate in Institute’s activities, while optionally included are all those scientific parties who are interested and/or participate in activities outside the Institute (seminars, workshops, conferences, groups, etc.). Candidate members, except for one certification to certify the completeness of the above criteria, are required to submit a certification from the secretariat of the university/college where trained, as also a full CV with their educational and professional activities they have completed till that moment.
c) Honorary members: Honorary members are nominated by the scientific director and supervisor of the institute without a necessary subscription payment or registration right, persons who are from Greece or from another country, who exceptionally contribute to the promotion of Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral theory, research and therapy and in the enhancement of this approach.
Supporting documents for Regular Members:
• A degree in psychology or another mental health field, from a Greek or a foreign university.
• Certificate of Education in Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (adults or children/adolescents).
• NARIC (National Academic Recognition Information Center aka DOATAP in Greece): If the degree is coming from a foreign university, equivalence and correspondence recognition of the Psychology degree is required, except from those cases where license has been provided according to the community directive 89/48-Π.Δ.165/2000.

*Those of the trainee therapists who do not hold a profession license, they can equally become regular members, only if they have successfully completed the supervision programs in REBT with adults and/or children/adolescents.

• A degree in psychology or another mental health field from a Greek or a foreign university.
• Certificate of study in the training programs in Rational–Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (adults or children/adolescents).

All of the supporting documents must be certified copies of the relevant Citizens Service Centers (CSC) or the bodies responsible where appropriate. The foreign documents must be translated in Greek by the responsible diplomatic authority abroad or in Greece, or by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, or by a lawyer, in accordance with the article 53 of the Law Code.
You can pay the registration and subscription fees in the National Bank of Greece, to the Institute’s bank account, with number 180/200573-54 (IBAN GR 59 0110 1800 0000 1802 0057 354), as you can also enclose a photocopy of your deposit receipt, along your supporting documents. Alternatively, you can also provide all of the above documents to the secretariat of the Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Institute, on the address 3, Aristeidou Street, Marousi, Attica.
